MAD MEN HIT TIMES SQUARE WITH SENNHEISER G3

Zeo Brothers Productions used a mix and match of Sennheiser G2 and G3 wireless on the recent Broadway live event premiere of the award-winning, hit show, "Mad Men."

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - NOVEMBER 2009: New York recently went mad for "Mad Men"

with a special three-hour live event in Times Square leading up to the premiere of the third season of the multiple award-winning AMC series. Zeo Brothers Productions of Hatboro, Pennsylvania, provided production for the event, including Sennheiser evolution G2 and G3 handheld wireless microphone systems.

According to Joe Moser of Zeo Brothers Productions, a thirty-year-old company that is one of the largest full-service - sound, lighting and staging - production providers in the northeast, "We had a mix and match of 100 Series G2 transmitters and 300 Series G3 transmitters. It was the ultimate demonstration of the compatibility of these two systems." All of Sennheiser's evolution wireless G3 systems are compatible with their previous generation counterparts including G2 and even G1.

Moser added, "Everyone on stage used Sennheiser mics for the entirety of the show." The MC for the event was Blake Hayes, a New York-based television host and reporter, magician and radio personality with a regular show on WPLJ-FM. Actor Bryan Batt, otherwise known as Salvatore Romano, the art director for the fictional Sterling Cooper advertising agency at the center of "Mad Men," was the guest of honor.

"We were quite satisfied with the new 300 Series G3s that we had just gotten in before the event," commented Moser. "We had two of the 300 Series G3 transmitters and two of the 100 Series G2."

The three-hour event got underway at 7:00 pm and included appearances by celebrities and a "Mad Men" style competition. At 10:00 pm, the show's season premiere was broadcast live to the assembled crowd in Times Square on a video wall provided by Zeo Brothers Productions along with the stage and audio setups.

Despite the density of RF traffic in Times Square, which is surrounded by a number of television studios, Moser said that the Sennheiser evolution G2 and G3 systems worked flawlessly. "Times Square was interesting. It did take a few minutes to dial in clean frequencies, but we did find clean frequencies, we had no dropout, and we had no interference. It worked out very well."

AMC's hit drama, "Mad Men," set in the 1960s, has drawn accolades from critics and viewers alike. Not even halfway through its third season, the series has already been honored with Emmy, Golden Globe, Peabody, Producers Guild, Writers Guild, AFI, BAFTA, Royal Television Society, and Television Critics Association awards.
