Job Description

The Manufacturing Liaison is a critical role within the Bosch Product Engineering Process (PEP) team acting as a liaison between engineering and the manufacturing plant supporting the initial industrialization of new products.  The Manufacturing Liaison acts on behalf of the business unit's engineering groups and a provides PEP project support as assigned by the Engineering Service Manager, Product Engineering Manager, and PEP Project Manager.  The Manufacturing Liaison also completes other project-related or non-project-related tasks as directed by Engineering Services Manager.  

This position is a hybrid role located at the Burnsville, Minnesota facility, requiring working on-site more than 50% of the time, with up to 25% travel.     

Base salary range for this role is $75,000 - $92,000 annually. 

  • Collaborates with the PEP Project team, Project Manager and manufacturing site’s business / technical staff to identify, organize, plan, schedule and coordinate the execution of all industrialization activities at the manufacturing location (including, in part, any necessary new tools, fixtures, capital equipment, etc.), ensuring the successful industrialization of the new product.
  • Acts as central point of contact for all PEP Project team members and manufacturing personnel to address questions / topics regarding the industrialization process at the selected manufacturing location. Supports all PEP Project teams regarding the industrialization process at a selected manufacturing plant, which may be either a Bosch internal plant or an external supplier.
  • Coordinates component sample orders to support initial Engineering prototypes and sample builds in the plant.
  • Submits product sample orders to the manufacturing plant, collaborates with the PEP Project team to resolve any discovered sample build issues and supports the final manufacturing ramp-up to serial production.
  • Tracks, supports, clears obstacles and expedites all Engineering Change Notice (ECN) activity related to the industrialization of the new product.
  • Documents all the above activities and requirements within the Planning Guideline and Industrialization Contract documents, including authoring and maintaining through the end of the industrialization project.
  • Manages all manufacturing-specific project activities in accordance with the agreed PEP Project schedule, budget, and goals.
  • Informs the PEP Project Manager of all project task progress, status, risks, and obstacles.

Qualifications

  • Associate (AS) Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or Technical discipline, at a minimum.
  • Bachelor (BS) Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or Technical discipline is preferred or equivalent relevant work experience will be considered.
  • Minimum (3) years of experience directly involved in the industrialization process for electrical / electronics (EE) / electro-mechanical product designs.
  • Minimum (2) years of project management/project coordination experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret product requirements from Engineering drawings is required and other technical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams and PCB layouts is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio or similar programs.
  • Ability to effectively use a major MRP / ERP / PDM system(s) to review Bills of Materials, Engineering Drawings, Material Number Master Data, such as SAP and/or Oracle.
  • Ability to communication effectively and present ideas and information accurately and comfortably to all levels of personnel, including Associates, Management, Executives, internal and external parties.
  • Working knowledge of PCBA / PCB manufacturing processes and design engineering practices, including associated industry terminology.
  • Prior, effective use of SAP ERP/MRP/PDM systems to review Bills of Materials, Engineering Drawings, Material Number Master Data.
  • Negotiation and conflict management skills.
