New digital PA and voice evacuation system brings value-oriented design options
to applications requiring complex messaging and music zoning
LAS VEGAS, NV, June 18, 2008 --Expanding upon the successful line of Varizone products that have been installed in the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room at the White House and many other prestigious facilities, manufacturer Klotz Digital and North American Varizone distributor Atlas Sound are now introducing VARIZONE VAB.
A cost-effective new system built upon the feature-rich, flexible architecture found in the popular VARIZONE Performance family of components, VARIZONE VAB technology combines the proven efficiency and convenience of decentralized amplification with a newly-designed, centralized frame/controller. Built expressly as a flexible solution capable of meeting the myriad challenges facing multi-zone, digital public address systems; VARIZONE VAB is ideally suited for healthcare, retail, school, office, hospitality, and any other complex messaging/music zoning application where an affordable "one-box" matrix /amplifier with its own control makes sense. As the acronym VAB in its name implies, the technology offers real solutions for applications requiring Voice evacuation, Announcement, and Background music.
At the heart of the new VARIZONE VAB system lies the VAB1 Controller and Integrated Programmable Amplifier Module (I-PAM). With dynamic zoning capabilities and an intuitive graphical user interface offering consultants, designers and engineers more system options than ever before, the combined functions of the VAB system provide straightforward routing capabilities with 5 standard inputs and 32 standard dynamic outputs via an internal zone matrix. Real-time onboard diagnostics and emergency system override paging functions are supplied within the feature set as well, as is an 18-minute programmable message memory allowing the system to be utilized for supplementary voice evacuation purposes. These features, along with native DSP facilities including dynamics and EQ, are all configurable with Klotz's Media Control software using simple USB interconnects.
The I-PAM is a compact, two-channel, network addressable module providing 12 watts of power that can be used to drive eight-ohm loudspeakers along with inputs for local sources, volume control and GPI. Atlas Sound will be integrating the I-PAM with various in-ceiling speaker systems as a way of offering turnkey solutions fit for a variety of different applications.
"VARIZONE VAB truly resets the bar for cost vs. performance of digital paging systems", states Steve Young, VP of Sales and Marketing for Atlas Sound. "Its uncomplicated implementation and setup features make it a truly remarkable product. We are extremely excited about its potential and our ongoing relationship with Klotz Digital as the exclusive North American distributor of Varizone products."
The Atlas sales team is currently traveling the country providing demonstrations of the new VARIZONE VAB system, which is set to ship domestically late in the third quarter of this year.
