Biamp Will Present on Bridging AV/IT Communication Barriers and on the Impact of Converged Networks in Pro AV

BEAVERTON, Ore. — Biamp Systems, a leading provider of innovative, networked media systems, today announced its speaking lineup for ISE 2018, Feb. 6-9 at the Amsterdam RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre in the Netherlands. In addition to featuring its newly announced Tesira® Beamtracking™ microphones and power over Ethernet (PoE+) amplifier, Biamp’s Executive Vice President, Graeme Harrison, and its EMEA Sales Development Director, Stephen Patterson, will present two of the show’s education sessions.

The Biamp education sessions at ISE 2018 are as follows:

Converged Networks & What It Means to Pro AV

Tuesday, Feb. 6, 12:30-12:50 p.m./Room 13-N110

Led by Graeme Harrison, executive vice president of Biamp, this session will look at the evolution of the pro AV industry in relating to and delivering on IT’s needs and expectations around the network. Harrison will define the term “converged network” and help attendees understand what this really means and how it impacts the pro AV industry — including what the effects are in the design and implementation of networked AV solutions. Attendees can earn .5 RU toward their CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I certification.

The Evolution of Networks for Ethernet and IP for Audio, Video and Beyond

Wednesday, Feb. 7, 10:00 -11:30 a.m./Room D203

Biamp’s Senior Applications Engineer, Ben Wilmot, presenting on behalf of the Avnu Alliance, will join Richard Bugg of Meyer Sound in leading a session that will educate AV and IT managers, integrators, and specifiers on best practices for distributing time-sensitive audio, video, and control signals over an Ethernet network. The session will cover the network features, design considerations, and protocols, with a focus on modern Ethernet capabilities such as AVB/TSN and IEEE 1588/PTP. Attendees can earn 1.5 RU toward their CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I certification.

Master Class: Communicating with Your IT Customer

Thursday, Feb. 8, 1:30-2:30 p.m./Room D203

Led by Stephen Patterson, sales development director, EMEA at Biamp, this session will discuss the industry shift occurring as a majority of end customers responsible for an organization’s AV solution now come from the IT world. They will address differing terminology between the two sectors that can lead to communication challenges and give attendees the tools they need to overcome this communication barrier. Attendees can earn 1 RU toward their CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I certification.
