July 26, 2011 — Biamp awarded the APEX 2011 Award of Excellence in the One-of-a-Kind Technology and Science Publication category

BEAVERTON, Oregon — Biamp Systems, a leading provider of innovative, networked media systems that power the world's most sophisticated audio/video systems, has been awarded the APEX 2011 Award of Excellence in the One-of-a-Kind Technology and Science Publication category for its work on "Taking On Mix-Minus Design: 4 Best Practices For Speech Reinforcement" whitepaper that it co-authored with Pivot Communications, a channel marketing firm for AV and IT companies.

APEX 2011 — the 23rd Annual Awards for Publication Excellence — is an international competition that recognizes outstanding publications from newsletters and magazines to annual reports, brochures and Web sites.

According to the APEX 2011 judges, "The awards were based on excellence in graphic design, quality of editorial content and the success of the entry in conveying the message and achieving overall communications effectiveness."

Biamp Systems' "Taking On Mix-Minus Design: 4 Best Practices For Speech Reinforcement," addresses the challenges of creating unique audio feeds to loudspeakers within the same acoustical space. The whitepaper provides best practices aimed at helping the audio-visual (AV) professional master the science of mix-minus configuration. Through the best practices, AV professionals learn timesaving techniques such as proper gain structure, attenuation from zone to zone, microphone compensation and good audio system design.

"Providing exceptional educational materials for the AV and IT industries is a key priority for Biamp. It's important that the quality of the educational content we provide aligns with the high quality products we manufacture for our customers and end users," said Steve Metzger, president of Biamp Systems. "We're honored to have this project recognized by the APEX Awards."

"This award represents the strong collaborative relationship we have with Biamp and the depth of talent possessed by our content team," said Jane Johnson, director of content development at Pivot Communications. "We share a deep commitment to delivering high-value content to Biamp's customers."
