SYDNEY, Australia – (May 28, 2014) – Christie®, a global visual technologies company, is demonstrating its expertise in advanced collaborative and visual solutions during the annual designEX event held at the Sydney Exhibition Centre, Glebe Island, from May 28-30, 2014.
Christie’s visually-arresting display at booth #656 will welcome visitors with a fascinating demonstration of the versatile Christie Brio, which is designed for effortless meeting, sharing of information and work across multiple sites while automatically coordinating up to five simultaneous video and audio presentations on meeting room displays. Geographic distance is no limit for Christie Brio as presentations and high quality media are shared between sites quickly and easily so that team collaboration is easy.
Another highlight of the Christie booth is a demonstration of the Christie® MicroTiles® displaying projection mapping contents. Christie MicroTiles are renowned for their ability to maintain color depth, high contrast and high brightness in high ambient light settings. They offer users the freedom to interact and are perfect for designers and architects who require a stunning visual display to showcase their designs and concepts while creating a unique experience for their potential clients.
In addition, Christie will deliver a projection mapping display on a half-X-shaped structure - inspired from the designEX logo – at the venue’s main entrance using three Christie Roadster HD10K-M 3-chip DLP® projectors proudly supplied by its trusted technical production partner Haycom.
The most compact in its class, the Christie Roadster Series projectors provide the high-performance and feature-rich standards expected in all Christie products. Equipped with full HD resolution, image warping, blending and color matching, along with built-in portrait capabilities and Christie’s industry-leading service and support, the Christie Roadster Series projectors offer high performance and peace of mind for all users.
The prestigious trade show is expected to attract more than 10,000 attendees comprising industry professionals, sound and lighting features, as well as installations by local and global designers. During the event, Michael Bosworth, general manager, Christie Digital Systems Australia Pty Ltd. (Christie Australia) and Peter Milne, founder and managing director of The Electric Canvas, will deliver a joint presentation on the concept of “Architainment, which involves merging architectural lighting with image mapping technology to generate large scale projection effects and spectacular shows.
Christie Australia and The Electric Canvas have joined forces on numerous projects including the ornate architecture of Customs House in Sydney as the backdrop of a spectacular projection mapping show at the Vivid Sydney 2012 event, and nightly projection mapping performances on the façade of Brisbane’s City Hall during the Christmas season last year.
“We’ve come to understand that designEX is a platform to share inspiration and innovation, as well as a special occasion where design is celebrated, design leaders are honoured and the young and new can learn, flourish and grow,” noted Bosworth. “The objectives are synonymous with what Christie has set out to achieve – which is to create world-leading display technologies that help our customers collaborate, communicate and share the experience with their audiences. We’re thrilled to be part of this uniquely Australian design experience.”
This is the first time that Christie Australia is participating in designEX since Christie Australia’s formation in November 2012, following the acquisition of VR Solutions Pty Ltd. by Christie Digital Systems USA, Inc.
“We’re excited and honored to participate in designEX for the first time this year, and look forward to working with our partners to deliver the best visual experiences to visitors made up of the most talented architects, interior, graphic, industrial and textile designers, illustrators, art directors and commercial artists who are the creative heartbeat of Australia,” said Lin Yu, vice president, Christie Asia Pacific.
“We hope that this event will present us with new opportunities to share ideas and reach out to Australian designers and architects who are keen to make use of the practically unlimited application possibilities offered by our leading visual solutions.”
