Christie Shares its Inspirational Journey of Visual Applications

SEOUL, South Korea – (May 14, 2013) – Christie® shares its inspirational journey of visual applications in Korea through the “My Christie Home” roadshow at Youngjin Demo Center May 13 – 16, 2013. Enhancing the experience is Berni Cho, project manager for the Big O installation at Expo 2012 Yeosu, Korea, to present the exciting three-month journey of welcoming more than 80,000 visitors with the signature multimedia projection displayed on the world’s largest water curtain. Nina Anh, Cummingham Group, also shared the group’s successful strategy of applying Christie’s visual solutions for WW Resort & Theme Park. The sharing sessions by the two end users received an overwhelming response from the local user community.

“We aim to create a platform to enable existing and potential users to share the experience of using Christie’s leading visual technology that is second to none in the market. The event takes the name of “My Christie Home” to highlight our commitment to sharing our inspirational experience of visual applications with the local user community, who are like family,” said Henry Khang, general manager of Christie Korea. “‘My Christie Home’ is engaging and fun and users can have a hands-on experience with the many successful applications of our solutions throughout the country. We hope the users will bring home inspirational ideas to brighten up the visual display world using Christie solutions.”

As guests enter “My Christie Home,” a miniature Big O projection greets them at the entrance with Christie reproducing that success on a mini curtain using a Christie DS+10K-M. An element of surprise is added when guests walk through the O-shaped curtain into the Aquarium Zone where they are fully immersed in a digital aquarium of marine life projected on three walls by three Christie DS+10K-M projectors.

In the Broadcast Zone, guests are treated to Christie’s full suite of broadcast and control room solutions featuring Christie® MicroTiles® and a Christie Vista Spyder X20 video processor with the control room solution highlighting Christie EnteroTM HB video wall display cubes. Christie has achieved resounding success in Korea with the deployment of Christie MicroTiles in the news studios of major television stations including Seoul Broadcast System’s presentation of the 2012 presidential election results and a permanent MicroTiles installation in Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation’s (MBC) studio for its daily sports program.

In the 4D Experience Zone, the guests sit back and relax in a 4D theater experience delivered by a Christie HD10K-M with theater seats provided by 4DX.

The Christie History Showcase Zone is where guests pick up creative ideas from Christie’s visual application success in Korea. They also see a  static display of several Christie projectors  including the Christie DHD800, Christie DWU670-E, Christie Roadster S+22K-J, Christie DS+10K-M, Christie Roadie HD+35K, Christie Spyder X20 video processor and the Christie® Phoenix™, an open content management system for control rooms.

“Thanks to our professional team and valued partners, Christie is recognized in Korea as a renowned brand not just for the cinema market but a wide range of visual applications. A strong testament is our appointment by the Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea organizing committee as one of the contents sponsors. Our participation enhanced our credibility in large-scale installations by supplying close to 250 visual solutions for many pavilions at the Expo site,” said Lin Yu, vice president, Christie Asia Pacific. “To strengthen our commitment to Korea, we’re pleased to organize the event of ‘My Christie Home’ to share our experience of visual application with the local user community.”

Christie received technical support from its partners, Youngjin and IMTEC, for the “My Christie Home” event.
