MOSCOW – January 31, 2012 – Cisco today announced that a new video conferencing system based on Cisco TelePresence® technology has been deployed at M.Video, the largest Russian consumer electronics retailer. The project, which aims to optimize collaboration and decision-making within the company, was implemented by CROC, a Cisco® Gold Certified Partner in Russia.
The solution was implemented in two phases. In the first phase, the company built a server farm and installed video conferencing software in the workplaces of all executives managing M.Video shops. These resources have been integrated with the company's enterprise-level services. In addition, video terminals were installed at the workplaces of all top managers as well as in the conference hall of the central office. As a result more than 230 shops were connected to the enterprise video network.
Within the framework of the second phase, 50 new shops were opened and connected to the video conferencing network. The capacity of the server farm has tripled. Moreover, video conferencing via the Internet was enabled to facilitate interaction with third parties that are not connected to the enterprise video network. Additionally, top managers were provided with remote access to the video network. The company set up a distance learning center with 15 video classrooms in the regions as well as a video record and transmission system.
