Laser Projection Wins Big at InfoComm 2016

Three industry awards for Digital Projection’s E-Vision Laser 8500, recognized for 20,000 hour illumination and exceptional image quality

ATLANTA, GA – June 23, 2016 – With 8,500 lumens and 20,000 hours of illumination, the E-Vision Laser 8500 inspired both attendees and judges at this year’s InfoComm 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Developed and demonstrated by Digital Projection International (DPI), an Emmy® Award-winning manufacturer and leader in laser projection solutions, the E-Vision Laser was recognized with three key industry awards at the show. InfoComm 2016 hosted more than 38,800 attendees from June 8 – 10, 2016 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The E-Vision LASER 8500 brought home a ‘Best New Product’ award from NewBay Media’s Rental & Staging Systems magazine. Specifically, the E-Vision won the always-competitive ‘Best Video Projection Product/10K Lumen or Less’ category. Additionally, the E-Vision Laser 8500 won two ‘Best of Show’ awards from both AV Technology and Sound & Video Contractor, two major industry publications. Margot Douaihy, editorial director of AV Technology, shared the following insights into the 2016 ‘Best of Show’ program:

“The 2016 Best of Show Winners were recognized because they truly solve problems rather than create them. There are literally thousands of new products on display at InfoComm, by more than 900 manufacturers, but the Best of Show winners stand apart.” Douaihy continued, “Ultimately, what separated these products from other solid solutions is that they have a special appeal for AV technology managers and IT directors in increasingly collaborative AV/IT environments. Our community wants to collaborate more efficiently and expediently, and these products help them do that.”

Having recently launched new laser-illuminated projectors in numerous performance and price points, 2016 has already proven to be a critical year for DPI’s laser innovations. Major laser-illuminated product launches in both the budget-oriented E-Vision Series, as well as the high-performance HIGHlite Series, were standouts at InfoComm. The DPI booth featured these new projection solutions, as well as long-established laser projectors that are already delivering value in applications throughout the world.
