GRAND OPENING: Lutron’s New York Global Specification Office

Coopersburg, PA (March 24, 2011)—On March 24th, Lutron Electronics will be hosting a VIP preview for the new commercial showroom and offices. The facility’s design specifications are the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) parameters issued by the U.S. Green Building Council. The new facility showcases a wide range of energy-saving solutions that are available, from basic to advanced systems which can save up to 60% of the lighting energy.

Lutron offers customers many ways to save energy as well as enhance their space. Solutions range from a single room to an entire building or campus of buildings.

The showroom displays Lutron’s many energy-saving technologies which include:
 

  • Wireless dimming controls, occupancy/vacancy sensors and daylight sensors
  • High end trim of light levels
  • Appliance controls to manage vampire loads
  • Automated motorized shading systems
  • Load shedding for demand response
  • Easily configurable digitally addressable fluorescent ballasts


In response to the construction market shifting to renovation and retrofit, Lutron has developed an offering of wireless controls including occupancy/vacancy sensors, daylight sensors, shading controls, Pico® wireless controls, GRAFIK® Eye scene controls and EcoSystem® digital ballasts system.

At the facility, the 7 strategies of energy-savings: high-end trim, occupancy/vacancy sensing, daylight harvesting, personal dimming control, controllable window shading, scheduling and demand response will be demonstrated. Metered and software readouts are displayed to show the actual energy saved in the space.

The specification office allows customers to experience energy-saving strategies in the most typical commercial spaces with solutions that can be utilized in retrofit and new construction. Designers will be able to use this working space to collaborate on light control strategies for projects around the world.

The New York facility features a diverse line of energy-saving Lutron light control products presented in an innovative and versatile commercial office. The space includes an open office mock-up, a private office and a conference room. The specification office provides visitors with the opportunity to explore a wide variety of product that including the control of high-efficacy lighting sources, sustainable light control options and daylight harvesting strategies. Solutions range from single area controls to whole-building systems that allow for Total Light Management™.
