Meyer Sound to Demo Steerable CAL Loudspeaker at Prolight + Sound 2013

At Prolight + Sound 2013, hourly demonstrations of the Meyer Sound CAL column array loudspeaker will show its ability to improve intelligibility in acoustically challenging environments. In addition, a new loudspeaker monitoring technology will add to the company's system integration tools to help streamline system setup and control for any live sound applications. Details of this new product are being kept under wraps until closer to the show debut.

A 2013 TEC Award winner, CAL is Meyer Sound's first AVB-capable loudspeaker and has been installed in performance arts and sports venues, as well as houses of worship in the US, Canada, Australia, Europe, and Asia. CAL demonstrations will be held on the hour on all four days of the show.

Meyer Sound will also show the 1100-LFC low-frequency control element and the Galileo Callisto loudspeaker management system, which together give users of the M Series loudspeakers a whole new level of control for low-frequency reinforcement and line array calibration. The 1100-LFC is characterized by extraordinary linearity across its operating range of 28 Hz to 100 Hz with ultra-low distortion. An elegant hardware and software solution for precision alignment of Meyer Sound line array systems, Galileo Callisto incorporates new U-Shaping equalization with adjustable slopes, width, and gain.

Those interested in the philosophy behind Meyer Sound product development are invited to attend the Manufacturer's Forum, featuring a presentation by CEO John Meyer at 12:00 on Wednesday, April 10. In his session entitled "Linearity in Large Scale Sound Reinforcement," Meyer will offer first-hand insights into how new developments in DSP and transducer technologies have led to dramatic progress in extending the linearity of high-power reinforcement systems and much more.

At 12:00 on Friday, April 12, John Pellowe of Meyer Sound's Constellation project director will talk about the technical and business benefits of the Constellation acoustic system in Hamburg's Operettenhaus, currently used for the critically acclaimed ROCKY – Das Musical. Both Pellowe's and Meyer's sessions will take place in Cosmopolitan Lounge, Hall 9.T, 9.1.
