New Device Delivers Long Lamp Life, High Performance, Installation Flexibility and Easy Operation

Secaucus, NJ, May 16, 2011– Panasonic Solutions Company, provider of collaboration, information-sharing and decision-support solutions for government and commercial enterprises, today announced the new PT-LB3U, a lightweight micro-portable projector featuring a resolution of 1,024 x 768 pixels and up to 3,200 lumens of brightness. With its compact size and ease of use, the PT-LB3U is ideal for multiple environments, including education and corporate settings.

The PT-LB3U projector includes a number of advanced technologies, including a proprietary new lamp drive system. This technology increases lamp performance and gives the projector a lamp cycle of up to 5,000 hours. The Intelligent Power Management function controls the power supply, allowing the projector to handle sudden power fluctuations. This enables the PT-LB3U to continue running smoothly despite momentary power outages.

Additionally, the PT-LB3U comes with Panasonic’s Daylight View™ Basic technology, enabling the projector to produce clear, easy-to-see images even in well-lit rooms. With a built-in sensor, the projector can measure ambient light and adjusts the halftone color and brightness level according to surrounding illuminations.

Panasonic’s PT-LB3U projector is also designed with ease of use and simplified maintenance in mind. The projector has a wired LAN network terminal input that, when connected to a computer, enables users to remotely operate and check the status of projector(s). The LAN function can also send out an email notification when it is time to replace the lamp, reducing the need for service checks from the IT department. Replacing lamps and filters is also a simple process, as the PT-LB3U projector lamp and air filter are easily accessible. The lamp is located on the top-panel and the air filter is conveniently located on the side panel.

Panasonic strives to minimize impact on the environment and the PT-LB3U has been designed to reduce power consumption. When in Eco Standby mode, the power consumption is only at 0.3W, which reduces operating costs. This new projector also includes Panasonic’s Direct Power Off feature, which has a built-in capacitor and provides continuous power to cool the internal components, even after the projector has been turned off and put away. This allows users to turn off the main power as soon as the presentation is over. Not only does this provide a quieter environment, it also prevents damage to the bulb from insufficient lamp cooling.

“In today’s business climate, companies and institutions large and small are looking at all aspects of their operations, including projectors, to deliver bottom line results,” said Scott Wellington, Product Marketing Manager at Panasonic Solutions Company. “Not only does the new PT-LB3U projector provide exceptional image quality and portability, but it is also easy to maintain, which we believe really appeals to AV Managers and IT departments. These features, combined with an attractive acquisition cost and Panasonic’s well-known reliability, make the PT-LB3U an ideal portable projection solution.”

The PT-LB3U projector is available now through authorized Panasonic resellers.
