PureLink Releases Industry’s First Complete Fiber-Optic KVM Extension Solution for Ultra HD/4K HDMI & USB

The Trouble With HDMI Connectivity... in Ultra HD As Ultra HD/4K sets the new market standard for video resolution, distributing its content in turn has placed extensive demands on infrastructure. Delivering Ultra HD/4K content uses massive bandwidth (10 Gbit/s), requiring even shorter copper cable lengths than Full HD (1080p) to maintain maximum resolution and reliability.
Further complicating matters, Ultra-HD/4K devices also contain deeply embedded HDCP Digital Content Protection and EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) which, if not addressed properly, can cause display resolution synchronization issues and lead to system failure.
“The challenge with building a complex 4K distribution system is that more components are required to work with multiple sources and displays in order to deliver high bandwidth signals over longer distances,” said James Kim, Senior Manager of Technical Sales at PureLink. “This can result in an unstable, failure-prone installation.”
The PureLink™ Advantage PureLink introduces the “F1” 4K/Ultra HD HDMI over Single Fiber Extender, the newest addition to the HDTools™ lineup of affordable high performance HD video components and accessories. An industry first, the F1 provides extension of Ultra HD/4K HDMI v1.4b with full HDCP compliance up to 300 meters - as well as USB up to 200 meters - all over a single multimode fiber cable.
