CYPRESS, Calif. – (May 26, 2015) – The Christie® Boxer 4K30 captured the 2015 Prolight & Sound International Press Award (PIPA) in Frankfurt, Germany. Nominated in the “Video/Projection devices” category, Christie Boxer defeated two other competitors to earn the title with the winner selected by a panel of international specialist journalists from over 100 specialist magazines in the music and audiovisual industry. In 2014, the Christie D4K25 4K-DLP® projector captured the honor.
The Christie Boxer 4K30, the first of the new Boxer Series, delivers 30,000 lumens and native 4K resolution. Users can monitor the lamp hours and serial numbers through Near Field Communication (NFC) with each lamp – simplifying the effort required to track lamp-life and the ability to make fast changeovers so the show goes on. Boxer’s Christie TruLife™ electronics package is equally at home supporting the most demanding high bit depth, high frame rate, native 4K signals as well as seamlessly supporting HD signals, with on-board upscaling making it a simple task to fit it into existing HD workflows.
Klaus Hilles, Christie’s regional Sales Manager for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, accepted the award during a joint gala evening for the MIPA and PIPA Awards at Prolight & Sound in Frankfurt.
